What Makes On Swift Horses Captivating:
-
Set in 1950s post–Korean War America, the narrative weaves through the intersecting lives of Muriel (Daisy Edgar-Jones), her husband Lee (Will Poulter), his restless brother Julius (Jacob Elordi), Julius's secret romance with Henry (Diego Calva), and Muriel’s own unexpected connection with neighbor Sandra (Sasha Calle).
-
The film balances delicate performances with lush, atmospheric visuals, presenting quiet yet impactful storytelling with emotional resonance and period detail.
-
While it explores queer desire and societal confinement, some critics found the pacing languorous and narrative arcs underdeveloped—yet performances by Edgar-Jones and Elordi remain compelling and nuanced.
